Bar man very friendly and had a conversation which was an unexpected surprise. Don’t get much back nowadays!! Guinness was good and the wood burner was on so nice and warm. Due to warm welcome we would return if in the area. Pub apparently very busy when the campsite opens but with the recent good food reviews could mean a good season for them View all feedback.

"The Commercial Inn has recently won local MP, Robert Largen's “Best Pub in the High Peak” award. The pub is located on the corner of Manor Park Road and Sheffield Road but doesn't have it's own car park although street parking is available. The pub was clean and well presented and comprises three rooms that could be described as the bar area, pool room and dining area. Three large muted TV screens were turned on in the pool room and bar areas. The bar staff were smartly dressed and very polite. A food menu was provided but it was necessary to ask for the lunchtime menu which was eventually received. Two real ales were on offer: Timothy Taylor Landlord and Sharp's Solar Wave Hazy IPA as well as a good selection of lagers, ciders, wines and spirits. We ordered a ciabatta from the lunchtime menu as well as a meal from the main menu. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and when received had garden peas instead of the mushy peas that were requested (not a deal breaker but does show inefficiency). The food was of good quality, tastey and well presented. The value for money was OK and if you are in the area it's well worth giving the Commercial Inn a try."

"From discovering this little GF fish and chips (so important for my wife) near where we were camping we were surprised by the high level of customer service from ordering to collection. The food was not wrapped until we got there and our large order...was fully checked to us. The couple were bothered about the food and service which was great to see. We will certainly come back and we hope the locals realise what a gem they have on their doorstep!"

"Called in today, Saturday, at around 1.45pm and ordered drinks which were delivered promptly. We were then informed that they had stopped serving cooked food. Would have been nice to be told this before we ordered the drinks. We left and went elsewhere. As said in a previous review their business acumen is sadly lacking."
