"We were staying locally, and Russell's was recommended by our hosts. There was clearly some nervousness, because it was so soon after lifting of Covid restrictions, but the proprietors had prepared well, and we enjoyed a lovely evening – in spite of a pompous prat in a kilt, who tried to insinuate that we were invading his personal space by being in Scotland. Turned out he was an English surgeon from Inverness, 80 miles away! The food was great, too."

"Delicious food, had breakfast there for the two mornings I spent in Glenfinnan and both the salmon and sauteed potatoes dishes were very good. Service is great: the day of my arrival, the train was delayed well past their closing time of 5 and they kindly waited at first before leaving it in the Sleeping Car when it got too late. Value was reasonable, and the interior is very nicely adorned. Service: Dine in"

"The restaurant is in an amazing place. The landscape is beautiful, next to a lake and in front of the Harry Potter viaduct. The dining room is very cozy and typical Scottish. Food's fine. Prices are like the rest of Scotland. They have several vegan dishes and children's menu. Very recommended. The sausages are a great choice!!! Even the selection of beers is good."

"Only two vegan options, both main courses, no starters. After they had told me that they had no vegan desserts, they then said that all their ice creams were vegan, not confident that they were so they had none. The staff did not seem to know what vegan actually is. The options were gnocchi and vegan fish and chips, I had the gnocchi with vegan parmesan that tasted beautiful. It was roasted inside and people smoke outside so remained inside. Not the best experience."
