"We were staying locally, and Russell's was recommended by our hosts. There was clearly some nervousness, because it was so soon after lifting of Covid restrictions, but the proprietors had prepared well, and we enjoyed a lovely evening – in spite of a pompous prat in a kilt, who tried to insinuate that we were invading his personal space by being in Scotland. Turned out he was an English surgeon from Inverness, 80 miles away! The food was great, too."

"Quite delicious and filling food. Nachos seems a bit weird as if made of normal wheat flour, or maybe I had high expectations of it being made of corn flour. Burger with blue cheese was very delicious. If you are not a smoker and dining in, there may be a very noticeable smoking smell from the entrance that can reach your senses. Overall it's a good place to have a bite."

"Only two vegan options, both main courses, no starters. After they had told me that they had no vegan desserts, they then said that all their ice creams were vegan, not confident that they were so they had none. The staff did not seem to know what vegan actually is. The options were gnocchi and vegan fish and chips, I had the gnocchi with vegan parmesan that tasted beautiful. It was roasted inside and people smoke outside so remained inside. Not the best experience."
