What michelemG1285VI doesn't like about The Imperial:
I read previous reviews stating the hotel was in need of an update but decided to book because of the location. We arrived by train and had a short walk to the hotel. The room had two twin beds which were reasonably comfortable. The decor is lackluster but room was tidy though small. We asked for a first floor (up a flight of stairs) and were accommodated. I would suggest skipping the breakfast if you want a hot meal... View all feedback.
We have dined at this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the delicious food, welcoming staff, and cozy atmosphere. The price for a three-course meal in the evening is very reasonable. We definitely plan on returning this year.
We dined here once again,a year after our first visit. It was just as nice as before, lovely meal, lovely pleasant staff, quick service, hood value for money! Thanks again!
Did not expect much of the food as it didn’t look much to write home about. How wrong we were! My husband had chicken karahi and I had the pasta with mussels. Both were absolutely incredible! Some of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We’re glad we’re here for two nights as the pizzas looked amazing and we want to eat here again tomorrow! Thank you Imperial restaurant!
I cannot comment on the rooms as we did not stay. My wife and I were on a visit to Fort William for a few days and were looking for somewhere different to eat when we saw a small advertisement board on the street. The board wasn,t there the night before and it was advertising Indian meals and various pakora. I phoned to book a table for half an hours time and actually asked if Indian meals were available. I was advised yes and table booked. We arrived some 20 minutes later, sat at the table, ordered a drink while we perused the three individual menus handed to us by staff. One was snacks, one was European foods, steaks chicken etc and the other all Indian fare. My wife and I studied the Indian menu and when the waitress came to our table we requested our choice of Indian to be told they have none. Not none left but NONE. When I mentioned that a board advertising Indian outside, a phone call confirming Indian meals available only sone 20 odd minutes ago and the fact she let us order drinks and peruse the Indian menu she wasnt perturbed and we got a very weak sorry. Ok, sorry about the length but needed to explain so you will understand my point. It is obvious to me that we were taken in under false pretenses as I suspect as the place was so quiet they thought we would settle for anything and spend money in the place. To say we were dissapointed and somewhat annoyed is an understatement.
Excellent dog friendly place with good food and drinks. very friendly staff also, would highly recommend
