"Let’s start with the food. This chef is excellent. Innovative but ensuring balance. Great presentation and would be close to Michelin standard. Courses were well developed and some great skill was on show. Then the service which was as far away from fine dining as I have ever experienced. 30 minutes late with food, and then only when prompted. 1/2 the staff were unable to describe what was on the plate there is no ownership of a table we were served by every member of staff including the receptionist). The young South African sommelier was the exception. Sad that excellent found is let down by front of house. Significantly over priced given this."

"So the hotel itself is dated and creaky, the food was overpriced, and location was excellent. But the reason we loved this stay is the local culture shown to us by the brilliant pink haired young lady that runs this place, Saskia. She was so pleasant and courteous about our stay then showed us the local places after hours. Thanks again Saskia you are the best i am mad we didn't take any pictures together but hope you enjoyed the night mode pictures of clear Scottish stars and hope you see the aurora again"
