"We didn't stay here overnight, but did a quick lunch stop at the public bar. And we're very glad we did! It's such a cosy and awesome place. The food was delicious and fairly priced. We had a tomato soup, a flat iron sandwich and a cheese plate. All really really good."

"As we were waiting for a boat trip thought it a good idea to call at the boathouse to enjoy a snack and cuppa, the place itself is in a prime location right on the edge if the loch and TBH is the best thing going for it. As we were limited for time I just ordered soup of the day, Lentil with a roll and a plate of chips plus tea for two, the soup did not taste homemade as advertised, bland with no seasoning £6.95 , the roll appeared to have been nuked in the microwave as it was so hot, the chips £4.95 was a very small bowl of frozen scragg ends not homemade as you would have expected, the tea was wet and warm and actually arrived 10 mins after the food very disappointing. Seeing some of the meals coming from the kitchen and presented to tourists for the price did not look inviting at all, definitely will not visit again as plenty of eateries very close by and wished we would have gone elsewhere. Total cost for food and tea £17.95."

"Well where do I start! We booked at 3pm for a 7pm table. No other bookings in diary should have rang alarm bells! So we arrive, are taken to a table, we are sat in the corner of what can only be described as a room with tables! There was no background music, no pictures on the walls nothing! Wipe clean glittery table clothes that felt sticky. We were handed a menu card, my partner asked if there was a set meal which was met with a glazed over look! We ordered a bottle of wine between the three of us. Then ordered starters. When they came out we asked for them to be laid out across the centre of the table and for extra plates so we could share starters! This again was met with a glazed over look, but we got the requested plates. Shortly later the most bizarre moment I have ever come across in a “restaurant” happened! A gentleman dressed in full Lycra suit came through the centre of the restaurant along with his pushbike! He stopped had a conversation with another customer and then carried on his merry way. At this point we asked for our bill. To our amazement the staff were shocked we didn’t want to stay for mains! The whole experience set us back £40 for three starters and a bottle of Pinot! It is the quickest I have ever drank a bottle of wine! Most definitely do not recommend and won’t be back!"

"One of the best homemade steak pies I've ever tasted. Big succulent chunks of tasty beef in a really nice gravy. Even the puff pastry is better than most other places. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Homemade Steak Pie"

"Let’s start with the food. This chef is excellent. Innovative but ensuring balance. Great presentation and would be close to Michelin standard. Courses were well developed and some great skill was on show. Then the service which was as far away from fine dining as I have ever experienced. 30 minutes late with food, and then only when prompted. 1/2 the staff were unable to describe what was on the plate there is no ownership of a table we were served by every member of staff including the receptionist). The young South African sommelier was the exception. Sad that excellent found is let down by front of house. Significantly over priced given this."

"Amazing fish chips, probably the best I have had in Scotland. We were here in 2018 we came back here in 2023 were happy that the shop is still there. The fish was so fresh, firm, flaky juicy. Its batter is crispy crunchy. The scampi was very savoury juicy. We chatted with Dale who was very friendly. So glad to have a bit of detour to come here again."
