First time eating here. Cute and cozy place. Love their outdoor seating. Staff was great and attentive. We really enjoyed our lunch. Was a little sad they didn't serve chips and salsa but I really don't need them anyway. I had vegetarian enchiladas and my husband had chicken enchiladas. Big variety of veggies not just onions and peppers like other places. Will definitely come back the next time we're in Hoboken. View all feedback.
What Melisa A doesn't like about Charrito's Midtown:
My guacamole is TINY and i paid over $3 for it. I wouldn't have bothered. Also there is a strange aftertaste with my quesadilla. Also no sauce/salsa is included. I would've asked for it had i known. View all feedback.
Authentic mexican restaurant ambience, but had mix experience with food. We ordered Chips Guac, Enchilada, Fajita, and Flan. Every thing except enchilada was spot on. It had soapy after taste, which made it inedable. It may be stale or might have been left over as it was late in the night but it is not expected from a top notch restaurant in Hoboken. They served guac in traditional stone pot, which was the highlight of the dinner.
I can not believe this place does not have a higer rating. We went to happy hour for lunch. Drinks were amazing. Frozen margaritas! Wow! I had some steak dish!! Amazing. My friend had fajitas! So good! The place wasn't packed and our server was great. More authentic Mexican than East LA. They made guacamole at the table to our taste preference. Amazing! I can not wait to go back!
We visited for lunch on a Monday afternoon when the restaurant was only lightly occupied. We opted for outdoor seating at the sidewalk picnic tables, as well as some smaller tables available. We tried the shrimp quesadillas, which were quite tasty. We also ordered chips and guacamole, but they arrived after our main dishes. The strawberry lemonade was fantastic—clearly made with fresh strawberries and not overly sweet. The menu had a wide variety of options, including a surprisingly large selection for vegan diners.
This was my first time dining here, and I found it to be a charming and cozy spot. The outdoor seating is fantastic! The staff were attentive and provided excellent service. We really enjoyed our lunch, although I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer chips and salsa; however, I can live without them. I ordered the vegetarian enchiladas, while my husband opted for the chicken enchiladas. There was a great variety of vegetables in the dishes, not just the usual onions and peppers that you find at other places. We'll definitely return the next time we're in Hoboken!
The portion of guacamole I received was extremely small, especially considering I paid over $3 for it. Honestly, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known. Additionally, my quesadilla has an unusual aftertaste. To top it off, there was no sauce or salsa provided. If I had been aware of that, I would have asked for some.
