Pre pandemic we used to eat regularly at the Chequers and the food has always been excellent. Food was standard pub grub but over priced for what you get and the service was terrible. Meal felt rushed, I assume because the kitchen closes at 8:30pm to the extent that our mains were brought out while we were still eating starters.
