What FoodMakes M doesn't like about Bennie J's Smoke Pit:
Friendly staff to answer questions and check on you throughout the dining experience. But the servings are way too little for the cost. There are two choices for sauces. They tasted okay but I prefer thicker body. I'm also not a fan of places that run out of multiple items. The meats were smoked well but I literally was still hungry for having a 2 meat BBQ plate. Fried cat fish plate!! The fish (there was A LOT), the potato salad, the hush puppies, the fries.... the sweet tea!!! Everything!! The guy that helped us was super nice! Guarantee that next time I'm in Huntsville, I'll be stopping by!!
Good, home cooked food, prepared and served with southern hospitality!!! Very well worth the time and money!!
Man, I miss Bennie J's! Moved to the coast and haven't found a BBQ joint to compare yet.
I get to travel with my wife checking her stores around the SW US. One of our favorite pastimes is checking out B-B-Q restaurants. During the past 5 years we have tried many top reviewed restaurants from Arizona to Tennessee. South Texas to Chicago. I consider us as BBQ connoisseurs. I'm telling you after trying countless stops that Bennie J's has the BEST barbecued brisket in the United States. If their is better it's got to be in a hidden shack in Alaska. The staff is extremely friendly and make you feel right at home. Looking forward to our next trip near here. I know where we are headed to eat.
Amazing staff and very friendly and the food was the best grill I had in every restaurant
