"It’s always nice to be able to walk over the piste to go to a little former shepherd’s hut and have a meal in a gorgeous, atmospheric and cute little restaurant. The inside has log burners, ancient skis on the wall and other antique ski memorabilia attached around. We have been here several times over the years and are always welcomed by friendly staff who run everything efficiently. We enjoyed our meal of steak and lamb, both accompanied by a delicious stir fry medley of vegetables and a fabulous gratin dauphinois. They used to make profiteroles freshly here (you used to obviously have to wait around 20 30 mins for them, as they were made to order and they were beyond divine) but now they don’t, so we were a bit disappointed with the ones we ordered, as the pastry was pretty tough, so obviously made well in advance… however, they were still nice enough and we managed to eat them all up haha! But I wish I’d ordered the homemade chocolate mousse as that would probably have been absolutely perfect. But the people that run the restaurant are lovely it has a lot of atmosphere and we would recommend it, especially for a romantic meal."

"A week ago in Isola from 30/8 to 6/9, we were never able to access this restaurant. We were staying at a few numbers from this place and still spent today at noon we checked that it would be open tonight! We were happy to go to dinner. Tired by a day in the open air we arrived in front and thought we dreamed by reading a poster announcing its exceptional closure tonight!!! I find this anti-commercial and I don’t understand that we can be restaurateur when we’re not able to provide a service. So I put a star, the minimum because I’m unhappy! Good luck to those who want to have dinner out of season."

"Really pleasant restaurant. Cosy feel downstairs seating around 15 and a few more tables upstairs so worth booking, which we did. Nice choice of half a dozen of each course plus 5 or so mountain standards: fondue, raclette etc. Moderate wine list from €20 upwards, we had a nice bottle of Vacqueyras for €28 and a very drinkable 50cl Flacon of white. Food really nicely presented, tasty and fresh. Had the cafe Gourmand dessert which came with 5 small versions of the other desserts and was delightful. Service was friendly and helpful, helps if you have a bit of French but still go if you don’t. Bill for 4 with two courses and including wine just under €200. Recommend."

"The restaurant le refuge is a very pleasant place. we had lunch on the terrace, in the sun, and we chose the classic Savoyard-Fondue: it was excellent and generous, there is no crumb left. the service is very pleasant, fast and smiling. I recommend 100!% do not forget to book, especially in the evening"
