The limoncello cake is a must-try dessert. Despite some negative experiences with service, Luigi himself ensures a warm and attentive atmosphere. A great spot for a relaxed dinner with excellent food and a neighborhood feel, along with friendly service. Byob adds to the charm, making it a true neighborhood gem worth a visit.
We took our friends to Luigi's for the first time, and they were blown away by the tasty food and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. One of them commented that the exterior was so unassuming that it could be easily missed. Despite being a small hole-in-the-wall place, like many hidden gems in Italy, it's a family-owned business with only a few tables. Our friends declared it as the best Italian cuisine they've had in years without a doubt.
Despite its shabby chic appearance, don't be discouraged from trying the food at this restaurant - it's definitely worth it. The bread was freshly baked and warm, the salads were generous, and the main dishes were flavorful and served hot. Luigi personally took care of our table during our visit. Be sure to save room for dessert, as the choices are delightful and not overly heavy. I particularly enjoyed the limoncello cake.
The food was fabulous and the service was exceptional. I will definitely be coming back!
