This place is located in Kahului in the old Da Kitchen space. The decor is simple, clean, and bright. Their menu is somewhat limited, more drinks than food. We ordered the guacamole chips, carne asada tacos, and carne asada quesadilla. They serve authentic Mexican street food so the portions are on the smaller side. We were really glad we ordered the guacamole chips to add to our meal. The guacamole was really fresh... View all feedback.
What Meesh Maui doesn't like about Taqueria El Gallo Rosa:
I’m okay with the food. Won’t kill me. The presentation is extremely inconsistent… But each time I go there I don’t feel like I’m on Maui. The vibe is not Local at all. I keep hoping for the best. The girls are not friendly to everyone. Seems they pick and choose who they want to be nice to. I experienced customers in line before me get smiles laughs and customer service. Sorry for not taking a photo of the food since I ate it too fast! I'm a Maui local, former Kihei bartender, owner and creator of the Maui Happy Hours app, and I really f liked this place. They did not have the vegan chees which caused my date to not like it. But I loved the chicken mole tacos and I will be back with/without her.
Finally stopped in to give them a try. Really good authentic tacos. Really loved the Al Pastor tacos. Service was really pleasant and I could have eaten an entire tub of the tortilla chips! This place will now be on our regulars list.
The best on Maui hands down! I love this place so much. Being originally from California this says a lot! Finally good mexican food on Maui
The only place where you can eat real mexican tacos in Maui, fish tacos were great!!!

We were really glad we ordered the guacamole chips to add to our meal. The guacamole was really fresh and so good! The chips were homemade but were thick, not light and crispy. The prices are on the higher side for what you get. Hopefully they will add more to their menu in the future.
