"There’s no other shack that serves food like Daria does. My husband always has spicy and oh boy does he get it! His favourite dishes are king prawn hydrobaddi and hydro badi biryani. The fish dishes are the best on the beach and the sauces...are divine. My favourite dish is the tandoori paneer tikka perfection. Francis and Daria are the perfect hosts."

"This place is the nearest shack to the Heritage Club Hotel, and takes full advantage of its position. I make no apologies for copying an extract of my review of the Heritage Club Hotel, since our meal at the Starfish was the only disappointing experience...of our wonderful holiday. Our only negative experience foodwise was at the Starfish shack, which had mainly been given good reviews on here. My wife was about to order a prawn meal, but was advised that `the crab is very good today’. She accepted the recommendation and was presented with a few crab claws and a pair of nutcrackers. She had great difficulty in obtaining any crab, and when she asked for help, the waiter’s invaluable advice was ‘Use the nutcrackers’. When we went to pay, we found that the crab cost rupees, about three times the price of the prawn meal that she was originally going to order. Obviously, we should have asked the price beforehand, but we felt that this was sharp practice and didn’t return. Mario’s, farther up the beach was a much better alternative. Walk a bit farther (good for the steps and get better service, better food and better prices."
