We were here Friday for dinner. (June 23). Fish and chips were great. The soup is always homemade and tasty. Friendly owners who cook and serve, along with other staff. Coleslaw is good as well as their coffee.Again there tonight (June 25) for dinner. Great cheese burgers, I have whole wheat bread and Fiance has his on a pita... They are very accommodating. this restaurant has been closed since March 2020 and from juli 2022 it is still for sale by owner. the eating was good before the owners decided to sell and it was a nice place to eat, hoping that someone will take it. how it was nice to have a restaurant in the city. read more.

Way out in Kirkfield, but they have plenty of terrific options. I especially love the burgers, but their other options are fantastic, homemade, and priced dirt...

"It's always great in the summer to find a restaurant with dog friendly patio or sidewalk tables, especially when they don't say..."your dog has to sit outside the fence (on the pavement in the sun) when it is a temporary set up for the brief summer months on a sidewalk.The Cow and the Sow on the main street a block up from the Trent Severn locks fit the bill with picnic tables beside the restaurant in the shade at 1:30 pm. They have umbrellas for when they're in the sun and the dog settled down under the table with his traveling bowl of water.I had the Reuben on marbled rye with a Belgium wheat draft beer and my wife ordered the burger with peameal bacon. Both meals came with the best fries we've had in a very long time and we've discovered another excellent spot to eat when out and about in the Kawarthas with the pooch!"
