We ordered one of their spesial dishes, pork filet on spyr, an it came with panfried potatoes and a dash of sour cream. "Second time under the new young chef and again it was a perfect night out for my wife and me. we had the full tasting menu and YES it is french and you will be very full in the end but you will be also...absolutely happy. from the foie gra , to the beef tartar with imperial caviar, to the lobster, sol and deer ..... every dish was sensational and a taste explosion. that restaurant is the opposite of TRENDY it is classic, old fashioned and this in the best way because everything is taste driven. don't get me wrong the food looks great but the optic is secondary it is all about how good the dishes taste and fit together. i wrote it last year allready but need to repeat it again> . the best lobster dish in the world is in that lonely spot in the middle of the hunsrueck where no ocean is close. the cheese selection and desserts everything is a 10 out of 10. i went to over 100 michelin star restaurants around the globe and this restaurant is my favorite. if you eat at Sonora you think the French Laundry is a 1 star."

"It is a pastry shop in the middle of the city square.The location is excellent to sit outside but the seats are so few that one has to be lucky to find a spot. The interior is very dark and some lights might be useful to align with the cheerful exterior. They have a lot of variety of cakes which are on display in the shop. One has to order at the cake counter and then the food is brought to the table. I ordered Sachertorte and tea. The Assam tea that I ordered was good quality. When I went to order my cake, there was some kind of bumblebees or bees perhaps roaming inside the cake shelves. I pointed out to the lady there but she did not seem much bothered about it."

"Visited the place off-season based on a tip from a local. Very nice owners, the food could be better, the service too. Anyhow, the fact it's apparently family owned and loved by locals gives it an edge over maybe more classy but tourist-oriented establishments in Bernkastel. To sum it up: honest local bistro with a great potential."
