The place was mentioned to have a live music. It turned out a Turkish music was given via speakers and there was an old drummer that put an extra beat. The atmosphere was ok. View all feedback.
4.2 out of 5.<br/ <br/ We loved Baro, a modern Turkish themed cafe restaurant on the Point Nepean Road. There’s lots to admire here. The food is terrific. We had three dishes. Vine leaves. The mixed platter comprising lamb and chicken. Some fries. Each was superb. The vine leaves were utterly delicious and full of flavour. They were as fresh as a daisy and as good as I’ve tasted anywhere. The fries were beauties too. Cooked to perfection. The platter too was extremely good as well. The meat was cooked magnificently, with the chicken being particularly fond. As beautifully cooked and spiced as could be and full of moisture. I also loved the sliced onion and sumac. All dishes were presented very nicely. All were very generously sized too and you can easily share one of the platters between two.<br/ <br/ We felt the main issue here was a curious one. An ordinary street presence and a quirky entrance and layout. The cafe restaurant isn’t sufficient prominent doesn’t really appeal enough from the road. The layout is modern in a new building but is a little eccentric.<br/ <br/ We strongly recommend looking past these things. The main things, the food and service, are excellent here. We will certainly return soon.
Baro is a lovely family owned business that has a Turkish influence. The menu is not huge and could do with some specials but what they have on it is cooked to perfection. The skewered meat is cooked over open flames and if you are lucky enough you can sit and watch them cook. The skewers come with salad, pita and a sauce, the flavours are beautiful. On a Saturday night the chef comes from behind the grill to bang out some music on the drums
Went to Baro on a Saturday night for a special dinner. Could not fault it. Food was very nice, the staff were friendly and the music was just the right volumeOverall really enjoyed it
The place was mentioned to have a live music. It turned out a Turkish music was given via speakers and there was an old drummer that put an extra beat. The atmosphere was ok. <br/ <br/ The food looked great. Extra vinegar was put in the salads. Bread should have been served when it was fresh. <br/ <br/ The kebab tasted marvelous. The red chilli and and tomato could stayed on the grill extra minute. <br/ Overall, ok Turkish food. <br/ <br/ I will definitely go there again to try something else.
The service from a young hospitality team was lovely and accommodating. The food was full of flavour and fresh. The meals were larger then we expected.
