Ate here with 4 other people. Food was ok with a large selection of choices. Restaurant was understaffed for the number of people eating. While our food came out without too much of wait, it took forever to get our bills and then once we received the bills it took at least 10 mins and reminders to the waitress in order for us to pay our bills! Not acceptable! The patio is nice and you get an alright view of the lake. read more.

Had supper there for the first time. My husband and I both had Caesars to start that had no taste or flavour. Terribly watered down. I had their fish and chips...

"Another reason to love Quebec! This is a fantastic, cozy, and cute restaurant in the beautiful town of Wakefield. The biggest highlight is the fish chips. The fish is fresh and it is served with cabbage, fresh home fries and a delicious home made tartar sauce. The vegan burger was absolutely brilliant. It was extremely flavourful. What made the 2 items even better was the hot sauce and I purchased a bottle of it to bring home. The staff is extremely polite and courteous. In fact they suggested me to buy the sauce separately to avoid paying service charge on the bottle. I have saved this place for the future. Cafe Le Hibou you have found a new loyal patron! Thank you for the brilliant food and service."

"Seemingly very basic and unassuming when first entering this restaurant, but service and food tell an entirely different story. Both my husband and I ad the Caesar Salad, and the braised short rib dinner. Both far more than good, the chefs at this family-owned restaurant really know what they’re doing. The salad was the best I’ve ever had. The rib dinner was beyond. Full of amazing tastes, the meal was also colourful on the plate, making you want to stop talking and just dig in. If you’re coming to Ottawa or anywhere near Wakefield, Quebec, you need to experience the magic at The Village."

"Great place to stop at after a hike in Gatineau Park. All their sorbets are vegan, and they usually have a few dairy free ice creams which are vegan too. The dairy free chocolate was amazing. Scoops are really generous. There's a nice seating area in the backyard. Beware, the lines can get long on hot summer days!"
