"We all ate from the well priced and generous menu. The starters of foie gras, tartare of tuna and grey shrimp rissoles were all delicious. Main courses of rare tuna steaks, aiguillettes de canard and tornados steak with foie gras were each perfect. A nice touch was the cornet de frites served in a little stand with the steak. The locally produced ewe's milk ice cream came in a large variety of flavours including violette and marbré de pèche, all finished down to the last spoonful. Lovely and attentive service and delicious local wines including a very good Vermentino."

"I rarely write negative reviews, but feel I have to this once: we went to Le Bastion on a very hot evening in mid-August. The a/c was barely working and the main room was swelteringly uncomfortable; we were in a heatwave so can't blame the restaurant for not being prepared, but we were surprised, given the quality and price of the restaurant. It took half an hour for us to be served out first course, and, in all that time, not once were we asked what wine we wanted. Sommelier finally came over after we'd already had our appetizers (no apology offered). We decided on the set wine pairing as by then it was too late to discuss the wine list. The main course arrived one hour after the first course, and an hour and 30 minutes since we'd first been seated (no apology offered again): no joke, I checked my watch. My husband had ordered the four course menu while I'd ordered the three course menu, so perhaps that explains some of the delay, but, surely a 1.5 hour wait for the first two courses is not acceptable at a restaurant of this quality, which offers only set menus and requires reservations in advance. Dessert came a bit more quickly. I'd like to stress that the food was all of the highest quality. Some of the wine was good, some of it was mediocre. I wish this restaurant all the best for its future, and hope that this was just a once-off bad night, perhaps they are short staffed in the summer. But, if decent service, and a pleasantly cool room, and responsive staff, are important to you, then I'm afraid I'd advice that you give this otherwise worthy restaurant a miss."

"There's been a restaurant on this site for at least 25 years, and it has the best location on the Promenade for al fresco dining. Many items have been on the menu for years, e. g., the salad with gesiers [gizzards] and the antipasta selection being particularly attractive. A hamburger with foie gras and French fries has been added recently, and I thought it was a delicious variation. I'll order it again. In its present incarnation, with a new chef and patron, it's a vast improvement over its early days."

"A wonderful and very picturesque place to eat when you make tourism. The food is good, the service quite friendly, and they serve relatively quickly, allowing you to continue your planned visits. The price is, I will not say cheap, but more than acceptable for what is usually the whole Languedoc region (especially for tourists). (Notice of origin) A sitio estupendo y muy pintoresco para comer cuando estás haciendo turismo. La comida es buena, el servicio bastante amable y sirven relativamente rápido, lo que permite continuar con las visitas planeadas. El precio es, no diré barato, pero más que aceptable para lo que suele ser toda la región de Languedoc (sobre todo para los turistas)."
