"I rarely write negative reviews, but feel I have to this once: we went to Le Bastion on a very hot evening in mid-August. The a/c was barely working and the main room was swelteringly uncomfortable; we were in a heatwave so can't blame the restaurant for not being prepared, but we were surprised, given the quality and price of the restaurant. It took half an hour for us to be served out first course, and, in all that time, not once were we asked what wine we wanted. Sommelier finally came over after we'd already had our appetizers (no apology offered). We decided on the set wine pairing as by then it was too late to discuss the wine list. The main course arrived one hour after the first course, and an hour and 30 minutes since we'd first been seated (no apology offered again): no joke, I checked my watch. My husband had ordered the four course menu while I'd ordered the three course menu, so perhaps that explains some of the delay, but, surely a 1.5 hour wait for the first two courses is not acceptable at a restaurant of this quality, which offers only set menus and requires reservations in advance. Dessert came a bit more quickly. I'd like to stress that the food was all of the highest quality. Some of the wine was good, some of it was mediocre. I wish this restaurant all the best for its future, and hope that this was just a once-off bad night, perhaps they are short staffed in the summer. But, if decent service, and a pleasantly cool room, and responsive staff, are important to you, then I'm afraid I'd advice that you give this otherwise worthy restaurant a miss."

"There's been a restaurant on this site for at least 25 years, and it has the best location on the Promenade for al fresco dining. Many items have been on the menu for years, e. g., the salad with gesiers [gizzards] and the antipasta selection being particularly attractive. A hamburger with foie gras and French fries has been added recently, and I thought it was a delicious variation. I'll order it again. In its present incarnation, with a new chef and patron, it's a vast improvement over its early days."

"Habíamos leído las opiniones y decidimos que era el sitio en el que íbamos a comer en nuestra visita a Lagrasse. Jamás escribo una mala opinión de un lugar, siempre miro el lado bueno de los sitios e intento hablar de las ventajas, si algo no las tiene no escribo. Sin embargo, la falta de educación me molesta, llegamos al lugar, preguntamos y nos sentamos en una mesa, vino el camarero y nos preguntó si íbamos a comer, le dijimos que sí, se fue a buscar nuestros cubiertos y volvió para decirnos que tenían una reserva y que, una hora y media antes del cierre de la cocina, ya no nos iban a dar una mesa para comer, con lo cual nos levantaron y prácticamente nos echaron. Jamás me ha sucedido algo así siendo una hora y media antes del cierre de un restaurante. Sin duda, falta de educación del personal."

"We've been going to this restaurant for almost two years or we've been ordering pizza to take away. We were never disappointed. It's delicious, fine, light. Pizzas are very good and do not burst your stomach unlike other pizzerias. One night, we chose Lebanese chicken. What a delight! And if you want to finish in beauty, test the Lebanese flan. A treat! The other dishes are not left. Just know that the restaurant is alive and when it is filled, don't expect to be quiet."
