"We had a nice stay here. we were able to book connection rooms (the brunette rooms) as we were on the move with our children and it worked great. the rooms were not luxurious, but they were very comfortable and had all the space and conveniences we needed. wengen is beautiful and hotel baren was in a great location on the main street, but very close to for easy access. the eating was extraordinary that we made the mistake not to book half board and eat it there twice, because it was the best in the city. we only speak English and communication with the employees was very easy."

First when we entered the restaurant they said the back is booked so we sat in front but when other people came in they were welcomed to the area so n the back where they said is booked. I asked why then they started mumbling and making up answers. They called it a stupid question that why their business is tourist based but they depend on tourist."

"Dinner menu starts only at 6/7PM and is usually full/reserved, so don't expect to be seated right away. you are warned. Outside seating has great view of the mountains, however it was closed when we got there as it was snowing. i had hausgemache tagessuppe mit Grindelwalder Schüblig-wurst und brot (homemade soup of the day with sausage bread) my friends had the salmon. portions were good for one person."
