What Hamish J doesn't like about Mermaid Fish Chips:
Gave this one a try a few weeks ago and have to say we were sadly disappointed. The fish was most peculiar. Certainly wasn't Cod not was it Haddock and tasty it definitely was not. The portions are good, as are the chips but there is no escaping the stale oil huge which hangs drearily over the premises. Much better option is the one down the road in Forest Hill. Sorry but not for us. read more.

"Owner called Nihat, of this restaurant is extremely rude and obnoxious. Never going again. I went there with my husband and my daughter who is 4 years old. It was my husbands birthday and wanted to take him out for dinner. As I was passing him on my way back to the table with my daughter he tutted at my daughter as apparently he thought she was in his way and was extremely rude. my husband mentioned it to him and his reply was to ask to take my husband out for a fight…. !!! What sort of a person does this especially as he can clearly see we were a family. Horrible horrible man"
