It's absolutely one of my favorite places to eat. I would let a total stranger order my food for me because I know I will not be disappointed with anything on the menu. Hint the wings are the best in town! I am 1 of the last 2 natives in Asheville. I know where the best wings are, and Wayside is #1. The staff offers genuine service, not the fake smile corporate taught service. The staff truly gives a damn! View all feedback.

Food was ok. We got the fish and fries and cold hot chicken Philly with “upgraded” onion rings. Fish was good. Moist. Batter was crunchy. Fries were tasty. The Philly was not a Philly. Just a chicken sandwich on a hoagie. The onions were greasy. Only three on the plate. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. Service was great. The room we were in was hot so that was not enjoyable.
