"This was just wonderful in every way. A meal which completely outdid recent visit to Tom Kitchen restaurant in Edinburgh in every way. Beautiful food. Wonderful care very personal. Unobtrusive. Honest honest. And food sourced and grown locally. I was encouraged to run my finger round the plate to pick up the last drops of sauce. 'Feel at home '. So very relaxing. The four of us dining just loved it. Not cheap but excellent quality and value for money. Worth every penny and pound! Shall return!"

"Beautiful and recently renovated pub restaurant in a cute little village not far from the M6/A74 (2 min. from the on/off ramp.) we were looking for a dog friendly place to have dinner with my mother and my spaniel and this place has crossed all boxes. the menu was so diverse (although a feedback is, it could do with a few more vegetarian options) and that was delicious! we had to call in advance as the kitchen was technically closed before our arrival, but that was no problem and they were incredibly friendly and flexible. all the workers we met at the station were absolutely fantastic; the service was amazing and they were all so courteous and beautiful. my dog riley got tasty bites, a water dish and cuddle by several workers who made our evening meal all the more beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who lives or goes through the opposite (especially if they have a dog"

"Went here on the 24th June 2018. There was 2 lovely members of staff working. One of the ladies was called Shannon and she was brilliant. Did not get the name of the other lady but she was lovely. The food was very nice and the place itself was bright and airy. I will go back there when I next visit Scotland."

"The food here was okay but nothing out of this world. My husband had to send his food back as he had asked for the steak to be cooked well done but it was still pink inside. There wasn't much atmosphere however it was pretty quiet so perhaps would have been different if it had a few more people in"

"It was a really nice place, we just came here because the other place we wanted to visit was closed, but happy that we did. the staff was all super friendly, and it had a very welcoming atmosphere, which was also delicious and very good price in my opinion. large vegan vegetarian selection, and a separate vegan menu that makes order very easy."

"Given the reviews we thought this would be a safe bet for a takeaway while visiting Dumfries. Unfortunately we weren’t inspired nor did we enjoy what we choose. The portion size we felt was smaller than a typical takeaway, the chicken balls should be renamed chicken pancakes and were not only very stodgy but greasy too. As we were hungry we ate what we ordered but we were sadly disappointed"

"Great pub with cheerful atmosphere, fairly unexciting but hearty vegan pub menu had bean chilli, gumbo, chips (fried in same oil as fish so not on vegan menu) and shared a hot chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. Attentive table service. £10 for a main £5.50 for pudding P.S. cleanest toilets I've ever seen in a pub."
