After working near Bunhill Row for several years, I used to be a regular at this restaurant. I recently made a return visit after a long time and was pleased to find that the menu is still simple and good, the wine list is concise, and the service is friendly. It's nice to see that nothing has changed here over the years. Sometimes, there's no need for change. View all feedback.
What Poppy B doesn't like about Carnevale Restaurant:
I find it quite unbelievable that, after claiming to be a vegetarian restaurant for years, they’re still selling non vegetarian Parmesan on their menu they even mention this on the website (calf rennet is made from dead calves). The Vegetarian Society contacted them about this in 2014, but they don’t appear to have taken it on board. There are so many vegetarian cheeses these days (I don’t mean vegan cheese, I mean d... Not the most imaginative menu and limited choice for vegan, but the sausage and maic is a great comfort food. the lunch stand outside is also fantastic. vegetarians are aware of parmesan although it is mentioned on the menu. I work near and service was friendly every time I visited.
Had the potato cakes, which were nice and tried the homemade sausages, which was surprisingly sweet (not on a good wise.) all the meals were clearly marked as vegan and when asked, we were sure that the meals were vegan.
This listing must be changed in veg friendly', not vegetarian', although friendly is a bit a stretch. very happy to serve animal rennet to all their vegetarian customers, and fearfully refuse to do something about it. superiorly rude staff and owners when it comes to it. avoid them.
Charming it area with friendly service. vegan products marked clearly, and in many cases the vegetarian version can be vegan- ised. the falafel Aubergine/Aubergine court was recommended and was delicious. space for the chocolate dessert. good with a soyuccino.
This place is good. It's very small, with limited vegan options. I had a good meal, and would eat here again if I was in London often, but, for travelers with so many other options, this place would not make the top 10.
