I have been a long time patron of Shmokey's and keep returning because they are simply the best at what they do. The food is flavourful, tender and masterfully executed. The new atmosphere is inviting and full of character. The staff is outgoing, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their food. Please do yourself a favour and treat yourself to the best Southern BBQ in the region. View all feedback.
I have to sayThe interior is nicely designed, and the service was quite good! They came when we needed to clear plates off our table.
Despite the low ratings from other reviewers, I didn't have a bad experience at all.
This place is decent. Friendly staff, refills are free and the staff checks regularly on you to make sure everything is okay.
Honestly, I had a pleasant surprise in spite of the odds of finding this place online by reading reviews. Anyways, I decided to take the bullet and OMG! I am so glad that I did it because I finally found the delicious ribs joint I was searching for. I went with my wife and two other friends and believe me everyone agreed with me. This is a small and kind of rustic place. I believe it is a family owned restaurant and everyone there was friendly and attentive. Their selection of alcohol and soft drinks is short but good. The cider in particular was really tasty. Now let me tell you about the ribs which are simply fantastic. Ribs are tender, well cooked and the bbq sauce is so delicious that it will make you lick your fingers. They also offer fries and a tasty hot sauce to accompany your ribs. I definitely will return to this joint to try out the rest of their menu and their great talent for making ribs.
Was looking for a BBQ smokehouse joint in London, and Shmokey's delivered! Seems to be a small operation with a rotating menu, I guess depending on what they decide to buy that day. The place is away from anywhere you'd expect to find a restaurant, but definitely worth finding. They only have a few tables, they were all full when we arrived. We (me+partner) were seated within 10 minutes and food came quick. We split a burnt ends brisket sandwich (topped with slaw and onions), chicken wings (full wing, not breaded, but deep fried) side fries, beans, and two bottled diet cokes. They serve local Anderson beer and ciders too. Its cash only, but they have an ATM on site. Would go back in a heartbeat!
