If you want to get transported back to your abuelitas kitchen, come here! Sofia invites you to trust her menu choices (because there is no menu). We were served appetizers, soup, main course, and dessert so bring your appetite. The icing on this dining experience was listening to some of Sofias life stories which are also told through her food. View all feedback.
What Randy S doesn't like about Canipole Art In Food:
We were just there. Group of 6. We were there 4 years ago and it was $35 per person. Great experience both times but this time we were charged $70 per person. What a joke View all feedback.
Indoor/outdoor setting in the shadow of the historic church's bell tower. The owner/chef Sofia prepares the meal in her outdoor kitchen as she engages with her guests. What a unique experience! Reservations required. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was such a memorable dinner and experience. For the night I felt like Anthony Bourdain, being shown the food and culture as if we were in abuelas house eating. This is like having a private chef (you pay much more for that in the states) , the food is delicious. The zucchini soup was unlike anything I had tasted before. Be open, let go of control, and if you want a unique experience, please support Sofia! She is a beautiful person and we will be back again to see what she makes with love! Vegetarian options: So delicious, I didn’t even realize some things were vegetarian! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–100
This is the BEST restaurant in Loreto. The food is fresh and authentic. This is a very special, small, exclusive place with a very warm feeling. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation you must go. This is a full dining experience so plan on spending the evening here. Sit down, relax and forget about everything. No menu to order from. Just the house specialty of the night. The best guacamole I have ever had. The green mole and chili stuffed with 2 different cheeses. My mouth is watering just remembering this perfect meal. I felt like my Tia was cooking for me. Sofia treated us like family and her food was filled with love. I can't wait to return. She also teaches cooking classes. Gracias Tia Sofia for an unforgettable anniversary dinner. Nosotros volveremos!
I would give Canipole and Sofia 10 stars if I could. It was more than a meal, it was an experience of being welcomed into a family home and hosted by the owner and her nieces. Everything is made from scratch and cooked over an open wood fire or in her beautiful outdoor kitchen. We started with the best guacamole I've had, made right in front of us, with a margarita made from fresh squeezed lime, orange, grapefruit and clementine juice. Choice of three entrees, all of which were outstanding. The chile rellanos and chicken mole were perfectly seasoned and cooked. We knew the meal would cost more than at local taco stands, but then again, the quality and experience was well worth it. For two of us, it was $80 total for a 4 course homemade meal (with drinks), that we thought was well worth it. Highly recommend making a trip to Canipole during your vacation in Loreto. Reservations are required.
This place is a tourist trap. In all the years I've traveled to Mexico I've never been scammed until I came here. We were charged $60 USD per person for leftovers. I also heard her coming up with prices in the back with her granddaughter. She asks you where you're from so she knows how much to charge you. She said she charges Italians more because they don't tip. I'm mexican and have never been scammed in mexico until I came here. Do yourself a favor and avoid!!
