"Newly renovated Jollibee Branch in Maasin City. The interior design now is industrial-minimalist, and more natural light. The only drawback is that there’s no proper parking space, so you may need to park your vehicle elsewhere and they also don’t have a drive-thru. But this is the only Jollibee available in Southern Leyte. Staff are also very friendly. The location is very accessible since it’s located at the heart of Maasin City and is near the Cathedral and City Plaza."

"I had the good fortune to stay at Sogod Bay Scuba resort for nights. My dive master Pedro Batestil was outstanding. Not only was he excellent as a scuba guide he is an exceptional photographer. The staff was great. Ocean view room. Food very...tasty."

"Delia, the 'better half ' of the owning Warren couple, really knows how to cook. The meal that we enjoyed here was delicious and properly cooked. The prawns were juicy and therefore mouth watering, while the accompaying vegetables were crisp and filling. Service was just right: not too intrusive but never too far away. A five star experience at a three star price for a Westerner."

"Friendly clean diner with good value basic food hidden upstairs above the Globe shop. All food is very Philippines biased: even a toasted cheese sandwich and Mexican food were shockingly sweetened with sugar, Mayonnaise and small portions. Closes at 8 pm. No cooked vegetables available but salads."

"We visited this place for a family dinner, just before we visited So. Leyte for our other island visit. I have a big family, so we arrived in the restaurant in 3 separate three-wheelers, car and single-wheeled bikes. We ordered 3 huge trays. They used this large round form of native materials that the locals call it 'nigo' fed with fresh banana leaves. It was amazing to see so mouth water. We ordered 16 mango shakes, 4 or 5 beer border, iced tea and water for drinks. It was nice to see my family, especially the children, they really enjoyed the meals. We were on a hut that stood above the water, so now and then we had little water spray from below, but it was fun. I love the place and we go back there. The only little complaint is that her food is a little salty for me, maybe because I'm used to cook our own home in Melbourne. Overall, it was amazing especially the service, we did not have to wait that long, considering that there are about 20 of us."
