"I went here today for lunch for my Grandma 's birthday, and honestly I could not fault it.<br/ The staff were attentive, the atmosphere cozy, 'French ' yet unpretentious.<br/ <br/ The Cook, Annie Smithers, worked wonders in the kitchen. There is a set menu for parties of 6+, but they thoughtfully cater for those with dietary requirements by calling in advance. The twice cooked cheese and truffle souffle was mouth watering, but my favorite dish was the slow cooked lamb. I 've tried to do slow cooked lamb before and it just didn 't compare! Talking to Annie afterwards she told us her secret was her home made veal stock, which gives it a richness and gorgeous flavour. <br/ <br/ I am running out of adjectives to describe how delicious the food was, I can 't recommend this restaurant highly enough! Superb restaurant, I can 't wait to come back at a different time of the year to see what Annie creates with her summer produce.<br/ <br/ The restaurant is only open Friday to Monday for lunch, so it is essential to book well in advance, as you will not get a seat if you just walk in off the street. <br/ <br/ <br/ <br/"

"I would love to give this place 10 Stars if I could! Gareth and Eriko have started something very special in Woodend. From friendly, smiling front of house staff to bang on, おいしい Japanese cuisine which is the best I have had outside of Tokyo, this place ticks all the boxes! I only hope that us 'locals ' can get a table when the cool and trendy Melbournites find out how amazing this place. All the best with your exciting journey!"

"I have been visiting here for many years and love the bread, coffee and food in general. Today I attended a sourdough workshop and cannot recommend it highly enough. The 'mystery ' was taken out of sourdough and I learned so much. We were well fed and watered and left with course notes, a certificate, leaven, flour to feed our leaven, and numerous delicious loaves of bread. It was worth every cent. A thoroughly enjoyable day!"

"@pigandwhistlehotel, Trentham East We had such a fun day checking out these spots as part of Australia's biggest pie tart trail happening in the Macedon Ranges until the 28th of April These are the 3 places we visit and what we tried there: Mushroom Stroganoff Pie @riddellbakery Tiramisu Tart @newhamgeneralstore Guiness Pie @pigandwhistlehotel (featured here) There are 43 different country bakeries, restaurants, pubs or cellar doors to check out and each one of them has entered the trail with a different pie or tart a great activity for this autumn and it's less than an hour away from Melbourne"

"Super sad to review negatively but really didn't have a great meal ordered beef korma, butter chicken and they were really over sweet in taste (actually couldn't eat the korma). Also, the korma only had 6 small beef pieces and was swimming in sauce. The butter chicken was more generous, but still not the standard in other places we have bought from. I think its important to share this so it doesn't continue. The rice and samosa were fine.The staff seem lovely, the website was easy, the prices were ok, so if this could be adjusted then i am sure it would be a great place to eat."

"Venue is inviting and promises a lot but did not deliver on this occasion. Although the steak was cooked to perfection the accompaniments were ordinary. Another meal was tasteless. For the prices we expected a lot better."
