The pub serves an excellent choice of beers and is very fortunate to have very attentive, polite and friendly staff. The food was fine. Sadly the room number 1 is along side the main road and traffic noise is horrendous from early morning. An overnight stop. Our room was clean but in real need of maintenance. Single glazed, draughty windows on a busy road did not contribute to a restful sleep. Very tired decor and the bathroom was tiny and very poorly maintained. Rusty old radiator, shower head had more limescale on it than a 10 year old kettle, so much so we decided not to use it for health reasons.
