So wrote the author Henry Fielding of his visit in 1749, and the same is true today. The Pepperpot Brasserie is part of The White Lion hotel and the decor is charming and traditional, retaining oak beams from the 1500s. The ambiance is delightful and the food and service are of a very high standard. I look forward to a return visit. View all feedback.

We stayed at the White Lion, and were not overly impressed by the Hotel which has some unhospitable draconian Rules and Regulations for Guests) nor charmed by the Brasserie. The Publicity Blurb reads well enough though it was possibly written for some other era, however the actuality does not live up to the claims.
