"Ugh. I really wanted to like this place after everyone raved about it in the reviews. Due to covid, they were only doing take out. We ordered the mushroom toast, scallop soup, octopus pasta dish, and the tenderloin. Mushroom toast: not put together, nothing holding it Together. Scallop soup: probably the best dish we ordered, but they need to either rethink their dishes if doing takeout, or invest in better take out vessels. We got the soup broth in a coffee cup and the scallops, potatoes and greens in a side plate. A little hard to eat cohesively as takeout…. Octopus dish was tasty and had potential, the sauce/broth (again served in a coffee cup) was SO salty I could only have a spoonful. The steak was cooked well, but again was very salty. I had hoped the desserts would be as good as they looked, the cupcake was dry, key lime pie tart was ok, and the fresh berry tart was also just okay. I know covid has been really hard on the restaurant and service industry, and maybe the usual chef was out or something but just way too salty to finish, so not worth $180 for 2 people."

"We visited the Overlook in August. The restaurant is situated up off the road (hence the name). There are stairs leading up if you don't have a car. Food and service were excellent. We had the Halibut and chips and the Curried Alaskan Halibut. Cocktails were very good."

"Highly recommended place to eat after or before visiting Denali National Park. You have to try the Halibut! They are also good to prepare the King Crab and the Salmon. "Great coffee and delicious food. However 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees were $40. Bacon was added to our sandwiches without asking $4 extra for bacon per sandwich). It was super busy, so I didn't want to make a Karen scene lol. But pay attention when you order."
