Good Downtown Spot. So, first off, if this place was in a strip center it wouldn't be any good. Yet, the food is pretty good (B-Fast) and the deserts are top notch with the bakery inside. O/w, it's standard fair. The interior and setting makes this place and with addition to the back room it has improved. You should expect a wait during peak times but it goes fairly quickly. What Madonna Heaney doesn't like about Spoons Cafe:
I only gave three because I had very mixed feelings. I'm giving five stars for their coffee? Drinks. The best I had in North Texas. Presentation and taste were on site. The ambience was cozy and worth four stars, and the waitress was sweet and attentive and earned five stars, But three stars for food that all tasted again frozen, I had the meat loaf meal and two stars for the tiny cute cupcakes that burned freezer. McKinney tradition. Consistently good. The breakfast is better than the regular menu. Staff always great. Its always a nice scene. Zomatozzzzz
Wonderful Experiece and Atmosphere. Spoons has a small town feel to it. The old wood floors and antique food signs on the walls create a warm cozy feel. Our server was very prompt, attentive, and funny. When we asked for an extra spoon he joked, 'sorry, we used 'em all on decorations. ' We all laughed. He had several more laughing moments with us. The food was very good. Amongst seven us of we tried bagels, omelets, breakfast tacos, yogurt parfaits, and eggs. Everyone really enjoyed the food. I will make this place a priority if I am in the area. It 's down home country feel is so nice.
YUM Homestyle menu LOTSA CHOICES. Had the chicken n waffles, never tried that before but was totally blown away, would def order it again. Pancakes, and french toast were great! My girlfriend had the McKinney and spicy chicken veggie soup and loved every bite. Had to wait a little Sunday brunch but totally worth the wait. GO
I have eaten here several times and loved having breakfast at Spoons Garage. The old garage atmosphere is really nice. French Toast and potatoes are to die for.
Spoons, it has that 'Classic ' hometown atmosphere. The food is as 'Classic Americana ' as the building, which is an early 20th century erection. Check the schedule, to find out when the live entertainment is happening, then go have dinner and a show with someone you like. Try their succulent Meatloaf. I think you 'll want to go back time and time again, just like I do.
