Exactly what you think it means. You'll find a bar that is dedicated to George Costanza fit with paintings, drawings, pictures, food and everything you can imagine dedicated to him. Whoever started this bar is a genius, very eclectic indeed. Some nice beers, cocktails and a fun atmosphere. Similar to other bars in Fitzroy, cozy with a certain energy that you would be hard pressed to find in many other cities. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about George's Bar:
Seems harsh to only give it 3 stars because it's better than that, but 4 stars is too much. I've been twice for beers and snacks. The beer selection is good, and the snacks were tasty. Staff is friendly, and the memorabilia is good. View all feedback.
Cool idea. Took way way too long to get a drink at the bar though, even for a busy Saturday. 10 minutes standing twiddling thumbs waiting on a wine is pretty bad, IMO. Ah well.
This is currently my favorite place in Fitzroy. The atmosphere is great with Dire Straits playing and Seinfeld quotes all over the walls. The cocktails are amazing. I can't imagine ever wanting to leave this place on weekends.
Came here for the Wednesday night trivia night really good fun if you are a Seinfeld fan, the questions are pretty difficult! There needs to be a bigger menu, if there was some hot chips and a few more things that provide a good feed it would take it to another level.I can't believe there wasn't even a big salad!!
This restaurant is a blast! The cocktails are incredible, and they have a DJ every Friday and Saturday night. They offer $5 toasties and plenty of comfy booths to relax in. Additionally, they have a seasonal cocktail menu along with a variety of classic options.
I had an amazing experience at George's Bar. As a huge Seinfeld fan, I was thrilled to find myself surrounded by quotes and memorabilia from the show. The cocktails were reasonably priced compared to other bars on Brunswick Street (where George's Bar is located just off of). I enjoyed a delicious long island iced tea and a Kirin, which I was pleasantly surprised to find on tap. The bar had a great layout, with an open and spacious feel while still maintaining a cozy and intimate booth area. The bartender was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was surprised that the bar wasn't more crowded on the Friday night we visited, but I absolutely loved it and can't wait to return.
