Managed a lunchtime visit hours before lockdown.Sat in a lovely cosy little room at the far end of the pub. Excellent service.Good menu. Did a detour of some 30 miles to have lunch only to be told on arrival, after purchasing drinks ,that there was no electricity in the kitchen. The electrician had been summoned at 8 .30 a.m. and still had not arrived (12.30 We understood...the situation and asked if we could have a sandwich and were told the chef had gone on his rounds and in any case the extractor fans were not working .
