The food here is amazing! We had the tomato and cheese salad, seafood platter for 2, passionfruit mousse and natas. The salad was delicious and seafood was fresh and of high quality. The natas were warm but weren't the greatest. The crust was soggy and the custard inside was too sweet. Good value for the amount and quality of food. Overall, highly recommended! View all feedback.
This was a last minute option as I had never heard about Aldea before it was promoted on the MTL A TABLE events offered throughout the city so I was not sure what to expect...well I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a classic Portuguese style restaurant, nicely decorated, warm, inviting with super engaging services. We were greeted with large smiles and seat almost immediately upon arriving. The seat space is relatively small and closely packed with approximately seating for 35-40 people in total.Although we could have ordered from the a la carte menu we took advantage of the MTL A TABLE deal...a 3 course meal for only $55. We had excellent Lisbon-style shrimp and a tasty green salad for our first service. The mains include a large lamb shank and maple baked salmon with walnuts (it was very good but I am not sure the Portuguese connection with that dish)...both were excellent. Dessert was flan and chocolate mousee...also very good.Overall we had an excellent time, service was extremely quick and efficient and we strongly recommend as a nice pleasant date night locale.Parking: St. Laurent Blvd is always tricky...we were lucky in find street parking in front of the restaurant but sometimes you have to drive around the blocks a few times to find something...just one of those things
Excellent dinner!! We had a great time here during MTLàtable. Food is fresh and authentic. Highly recommend and we will come back soon!
This exquisite restaurant was a new experience for most of our group members. Owned and operated by a seasoned couple, José manages the restaurant while Nela oversees the kitchen. Situated in the vibrant Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood on St-Laurent boulevard, this upscale Portuguese eatery offers a special menu for larger groups like ours (10 people), featuring a selection of 5 appetizers, 5 main dishes, and 3 desserts. We were pleasantly surprised that we weren't required to pay a deposit or penalized for any last-minute cancellations. The restaurant's wine list includes a diverse range of imported and SAQ Portuguese wines. Major kudos to the entire staff, particularly our attentive waiter, Elisio. Will we be returning? Absolutely, as a group or individually.
This Portuguese restaurant is beautiful, modern, immaculate, and genuine. The menu offers a high variety of food, with amazing seafood, great salads, soups, and tapas. The steamed clam appetizer in garlic and white wine with dipping bread was excellent. The seafood casserole included shrimp, squid, octopus, clams, mussels, and lobster, served with a side of rice and tools to easily open the shells. The wine selection was outstanding. There are also good options for non-seafood eaters. The wait staff was exceptional - the best we have ever seen. We highly recommend this restaurant, located in a great part of Montreal near the Balattou music club, a fantastic venue for innovative music.
My group of three dined at this restaurant on a Friday evening. The service was exceptional, and the waiter's wine suggestion was spot on. Two of us split a seafood platter, although I would have liked fewer clams and mussels and more scallops. The other person in our group ordered a steak and was very pleased with it. The restaurant was busy by the time we finished our meal. Overall, I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5.
