This is a rare occurrence. A place that serves healthy food including many different salads in the food court of preomenade le cathedrale near McGill metro.I tried the quinoa salad and the bean salad, both excellent. Tasty and good portion for about 4$ each. They also have a salad bar for those interested. If you feel like healthy food while in the mall, check it out this place might be for you.Recommended! Since I'm sure this is a franchise maybe they'll let the one I'm writing this review about know, it's about the Olly Fresco's at Carrefour Industrielle Alliance, today I went to get lunch there and a young staff member literally started to humiliate me because...I only put a squirt of hand sanitizer on and then not happy with that told some guy in charge to talk to me about it, I mean, come on people you do not need... Good selection of foods to eat if you are like me and cannot decide or want variety. It is a little expensive compared to getting a meal at other places. $2/100 g which doesn't get much. I've been here often since last year and they have increased the price since then so I noticed I'm getting less food and it is more expensive. For about $10 I am not at all full so expect to spend at least $15 for an average size meal. There is a variety of hot dishes and salad bar to choose from but because it is self-serve, make sure to wash your hands before eating because anybody and everyone touches the serving spoons for each dish. Not everything is fresh as the dishes tend to sit there a little longer than they should or they care to change. Not everything is good either as some dishes I've noticed they tend to over cook to err or the safe side and some hot dishes are burnt or soft and overdone. The salad bar has a great selection but some items are overripe like tomatoes or under ripe like avocadoes. I think they need someone to overlook the quality of the foods. In all, it's a good place to try foods here if you can't decide what to eat or you are craving certain foods. I don't think I'll be returning as it is too expensive for what it's worth as you can expect to spend at least $15-$20 for cafeteria style food. At that price, you're better off going to a sit down restaurant. It's convenient for office workers who work or live in the area as its located inside, connecting to mcgill métro so you don't need to go outside. But like I said, too expensive for what it's worth. You can check it out for yourself and let me know how much you spend on your meal.
The selection here is fantastic for lunch. Hot and cold sandwiches, salads, Lebanese wraps, buffet, desserts. Perfect spot for a take out lunch for all tastes and diets
I really like this place. Whenever I am in the area, instead of going to the usual fast food place where a meal is set for a fixed price, I go to Olly's where I can choose from a wide selection of different food. Everything from perogies to pasta to Asian-type salads to Kentucky-fried style chicken, I just pile it onto my take-out plate. I like the fact that food is not oily. So far, I have gone 5 times already and I am not bored yet.
A co-worker informed me of this place that offered spaghetti in meat sauce (bolognaise) for $5.50+taxes=$6.35 on Mondays and Tuesdays only.I decided to take the plunge and try this place out.Olly Fresco's is located in Les Promenades Cathedrale within Montreal's "underground city" and located at McGill metro. It is located at the end of the food court (or the beginning of the food court depending on how you enter) and looks like a combination of a small grocery store with food stations that you can order specific types of food (sandwiches, delicatessen, pasta). The items in the "grocery store" area were prepared salads, prepared sandwiches, yogurt, fruit juices, fruits, etc. Most of the items where "healthy lunches" but I did see some candy bars, chips, and soft drink there as well. For the pasta, you basically stand in line at the pasta bar and when it is your turn, you order the pasta that you want and they prepare it in front of you.In my case, I just wanted their spaghetti bolognaise so it was very fast. All they did was to take a pan, put the pre-made bolognaise sauce on it and put it over the hot stove. At the same time, they put the pre-cooked spaghetti/pasta into the boiling water for a few seconds to get it hot. They then removed it from the hot water and shook it within the colander to try to get as much water out as possible before putting it into the pan with the hot bolognaise sauce. He then pan-tossed/pan-flipped the pasta for a few seconds before pouring it into the plastic take-out bowl. The chef will ask if you want cheese on top. Being mildly lactose intolerant, I opt not to have the cheese. He then covers it and after you pay for it, you either walk to the food court to eat or you can take it back to your office.I thought that it was above average for spaghetti bolognaise. It wasn't the best that I've had but it wasn't the worst either. Even though when the bolognaise sauce was thick when it was mixed with the still wet spaghetti, it wasn't as thick (and I prefer the sauce to be thicker). The sauce tasted very good. It wasn't sour and had plenty of meat. The portion size was also very large for the special $5.50+tax price tag. I believe that the regular price is $6.75+taxes.They have more elaborate pasta dishes at the pasta bar section where you can specify if you want chicken, shrimp, onions, etc. with your pasta. The price of your pasta will depend on what you add to your pasta dish. They also had a variety of pasta sauces.I returned to my office to eat it. With 2 glasses of water, I was full. One of the things that I like about the location is that it is within the metro station complex so if you work in a building that is connected to the metros (like I do), in case of bad weather, you don't have to go outside.I will definitely return. A great place to get spaghetti bolognaise at a special price (only Mondays and Tuesdays).
