"First time trying this particular takeaway; it won't be the last. Started with chicken sesame toast which was lovely followed by chicken thai yellow curry. Most enjoyable and we will definitely go back and try other dishes on the menu."

"The food at La Famiglia is absolutely excellent. They often have fish and seafood specials which are tremendous. Their Sunday roasts are also fabulous and only around £10 each. I have to recommend the Chicken Skewers and Seafood Sharing Platter, as well as the Caprese Salad (my fiancee is a strict vegetarian). NEVER had a reason to complain about anything I 've had here in over 4 years of attending this super-friendly restaurant. And they do have WiFi for device-obsessed patrons, but the password is Talk2eachother as they 're trying (and succeeding) in promoting a great, chatty, quiet music, friendly and welcoming eating place. Well done to Rob and the rest of the staff. One of my top 5 eateries in Newcastle."

"I have visited the Earl of Pitt street many times for Sunday lunch over the years, but my experience today has left me absolutely not willing to return. We booked a table for 6 people at 3pm, when we arrived, baby in pram in tow, we were sent up the stairs but the staff at the bar. Absolutely no problem at all, we got ourselves upstairs with the pram. When we walked in to the main dining room where our table was, the owner looked at us as if we were aliens. He started to raise his voice and ask us why we had been stupid enough to come upstairs with a pram, it was all a massive inconvenience to him that he didn’t have a table where a pram would fit. Had the staff downstairs not just sent us upstairs I would have maybe agreed we had been better suited to sitting downstairs. He wanted to know who had booked the table, why I hadn’t said there would be a baby in a pram(?! and got in my face saying ‘INFORMATION IS KEY’ My friend who is a new mother has never felt so uncomfortable or unwanted in a restaurant, she was nearly bought to tears. When I told him that the people downstairs had sent us up he said they were young and Inexperienced (not sure how his staffing competencies is our problem I could go on about all the ways he over reacted, shouting at staff, ringing downstairs effing and blinding. We had to apologise to other eaters who had all ground to a halt to take in the uncomfortable scene. Even after all this, had he approached our table to explain he had been stressed and apologised, I think we would have been fine. But nothing. It’s such a shame as the food is stunning, atmosphere great, and decor beautiful. But today’s experience has left nor me or any of my friends and family Ever willing to return. My advice to the owner would be to inject some compassion and understanding into his management style, and an apology goes a long way. All the best."
