"Pretty expensive. Where's the value menu? The staff are helpful, but wish they had a self serve kiosk like at Taco Bell. I would eat here rather than McDonalds. Food is fast. Overall a good place to eat at a good location."

"OH-MY-GOODNESS! no doubt… of all the restaurants we have visited while traveling—THIS was my favorite Italian restaurant! I devoured the baked Ziti and I am pretty sure I ate my weight in bread/rolls! The others in my family had Alfredo or spaghetti and meatballs! LOVED it! Only complaint… it is not near my town!"

"Hate to give less than 5 stars for this place. The food and hostess service was amazing. As our meal moved on our waitress became more and more of an absentee. We asked her 3 times for our check as she walked by and completely ignored us. Acted like she didn’t hear but suspecting otherwise. But, other than that, this place is superb."

"The Chop House in Mt. Vernon, Texas, is an excellent place to dine with super waitresses and bartender. The owner Stephanie stopped by our table several times and was so helpful. The food is absolutely wonderful from the goat cheese and fig chicken salad to the tempura asparagus spears appetizers, to the chopped steak and the side salad, baked potatoes, to the desserts and lovely wines. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The outside patio and bar area are both so much fun to spend time in for drinks and gathering with friends. You would be missing out on Mt. Vernon if you don't go to this historic building on the south of the courthouse square. It's great!!!"

"The only thing this place has going for it is the people that work there. Granted, we only ordered a couple of brisket sandwiches, but it was literally the worst brisket I have ever had in my entire life. I could easily make a better one at home with minimal effort. The bark tastes like bad (and a lot of) smoke, and the meat itself had no flavor."
