"This place was a juwel to eat in the middle of our day on the mountain too. there is a separate vegetarian menu in English and eating is standard decent quality of Japanese cuisine found on the mountains. there were also free peeled apples and coffee! and there was a large table with a heating under to dry their stuff while they eat."

"Onpoint Madarao is everything we've been looking for for a long weekend in nature. Both my partner and I are vegan. All we had to do was let Justin and Kaori know in advance, and they really went beyond and beyond to create a menu for us. Every single meal was an amazing experience of different flavors and textures, all plants based and made at home. Breakfast was western style, while dinner was more Japanese cuisine. On the last day we had lunch at the lodge and we tried the drawn Pilzburger. This was the hands down THE best burgers I ever had, 100%vegan and full of taste. After the long walks and all the cycling during the day, back to a hearty meal prepared with the freshest ingredients is everything you need to recharge! I definitely recommend you for breakfast / dinner package if you choose your stay! The lodge itself is wonderful, with a modern design and a sense of warmth throughout the room. We were in one of the superior rooms that have a double bed and private bathroom. The room and lodge in general are super clean and with stylish furniture and finish. Justin knows the area exceptionally well, so he can be able to walk in place and do activities while you are there. Justin and Kaori are both very attentive and friendly, it was a pleasure to meet them. We will definitely return in autumn and winter for more excursions to nature and relaxing time in Onpoint Madarao! Updated by previous review on 2020-08-23"

"This is a sweet little cafe with many antique decorations and amazing sandwiches. Owner knows what is vegan and happy veganized dishes and sandwiches. I could eat a delicious sandwich with soy meat, vegetables and vegan Mayo. Your apple juice is amazing!!! Updated by previous review on 2021-08-11"

"The gyoza and crispy chicken were beautiful, the daikon salat was good, but the crispy tofu was terrible. it was cold and tasted like stale brot. we only ate a few pieces. the aussie waiter served my drink by holding it on the glass top! overall the staff were friendly enough."

"We went here on the recommendation of our hosts in Akakura. Ramen is in the name, but they serve a wide variety of dishes. It 's half a general store/souvenir store, half like grandma used to make restaurant. We were concerned that our mom, who has Celiac, would not find something she could have on the menu. They worked with us, and we were able to get the cold tofu dish, tomato bacon skewers, and edamame for her. I had the beef curry, which was massive and very good."

"The food at the #C Sharp Café is amazing (pronounced 'see sharp ' by the way! . As a vegan, this place was a small piece of heaven for me. Over 90% of the menu is vegan and the flavors are so delicious. The owners Akihito and Miya are super friendly and obliged to live peacefully with the planet. I recommend the curry and for the desert the red bean sweets if they have any while you are there. Last time I saw they were open only on Wednesday. It is worth calling forward. Miya speaks English :"
