Finding a good vegetarian place to eat in may towns in France is often difficult so we were relieved and excited to find this dedicated restaurant. The one member of staff who did everything while we were there was very friendly, well prepared and organised. What Geovanny Stiedemann doesn't like about Le Bistrot de L'ile:
This is hardly a restaurant. There was one person (the cook/owner) standing there and preparing the dish of the day. I ate some rice with some tomatoes which reminded me of the type of food I could cook when I come back home late and I'm too lazy to cook so I prepare something in 15min ... No tofu or lentil or other protein source, nothing made me think that the place was an actual restaurant. There is a lack of cook... View all feedback.

A small restaurant with a big heart. Ideally located near the center of Nantes, close to the Machines de l'Île attraction. Great food, excellent value. Thank you.
Make sure you book a table on a Saturday! Went there at 1 h30 pm, they stop serving at 3 . At first they told us there was no space available for 3, so we said only two of us would eat, and we saw two small empty tables. She asked the chef and he said he didn't have any food left for 2 and that they were expecting 6 people who had a reservation. It didn't really make any sense really. No food left on a Easter week end at 1h30 when you're meant to be open til 3? I worked ten years in a vegetarian restaurant in Central london and that never happened! Anyhow we asked them if there was anywhere where we could get vegan food and the waitress told us to go to the Turkish place across the road. Guess what? That place was closed for lunch.
I just read the first reviews and fell up because I think we're not talking about the same restaurant! the owner and yes it is also the cook is really nice and cared for with its customers. Its kitchen is delicious and absolutely not fade (perso I am vegan and I don't need false meat to eat well! I warmly recommend this address.
We ate very well in this small friendly restaurant; fresh and well cooked products, I find it pleasant to be able to eat healthy and balanced in a restaurant! The boss, who leaves to serve and satisfy everyone, is very welcoming. Thanks to him for so much appreciated the vegan cuisine to my mother!
