What a beautiful place to have a nice dinner. Dai was our server and we've had him before. Very helpful, friendly, and attentive. I had the redfish special, wife had pork chops. Both cooked perfectly and tasted great. My starter shrimp cocktail was wonderful. 5 big ones in a spicy sauce. Next time, we'll save room for dessert.. Thank you for a wonderful evening of dining. What Pamela Chambers doesn't like about 1818:
All our food was served lukewarm and was bland. My fish was dry and appetizer of green tomatoes was suppose to have lump crabmeat and did not. The caramel sauce on the bread pudding was very grainy sugar, not even prepared properly. Sorry, but not a place I would eat again. Way way overpriced! View all feedback.
I brought my mom here to end off a girls weekend in Natchez and it was by far my favorite meal! I live in NYC so I eat at loads of amazing restaurants including fine dining, and the food here at 1818 was top tier. The service was wonderful. Everything was great. Had a great red wine from Spain and the chef's special dish of the day which was DIVINE. Will come back!
Of course, George made our evening special. The food was delicious and we were able to sit at our favorite table. The ribeye and pasta were cooked to perfection and the cauliflower soup was perfect. This was our 5th time at 1818 on our way from Texas to Alabama- we'll be back in November!
This was a puzzling restaurant in some ways. Everything was fine but the vibe felt a bit off. This is a very quiet, very reserved place. You felt like you should whisper. The servers and staff were friendly, and the owners made the rounds to greet their guests. But it felt kind of musty and dated. In some ways, that's the point but it also just seemed sleepy. The food was actually quite good. But don't order cocktails! I should have known when there were none on the menu but our server said “of course” when I asked. The cocktails actually were made by the server herself and she clearly did not have much experience. But the wine menu is good so just go with that.
This was the perfect way to end our visit to Natchez. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service impeccable and the food Devine. Our server George did an excellent job. Was friendly, very knowledgeable and helped ensure my husband meal would work with his gluten intolerance. He was just wonderful! The meal was one of the best I've head in years. I had the chargrilled pork chop, mashed sweet potato and greens. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband had the fish of the day and it to was fantastic. We had started our meal with the red pepper soup. It was wonderful and ended with the pecans pie just as delicious. We started with a before dinner cocktail. Their Old Fashions were some of the best we had in years. Thank you to the staff of 1818 for making our last night in Natchez memorable.
My wife and I love coming to Restaurant 1818. Each time we visit Natchez, we dine there at least once. The food and service are always exceptional. George was our waiter, and he did a great job!
