We had a fantastic lunch at a Tamil restaurant. It was our first time ordering there and we were unsure of what to choose. The staff recommended a series of dishes for us to try, and they were all amazing. Our favorites were the lamb curry (absolutely delicious), the mixed plate, and the parotta bread, which was a delightful change from regular chapati - it was flaky and delicious. The channa was also very good. We w... View all feedback.

another disappointing meal from tamil kitchen. after moving to baker street, eating was amazing when the father of the owner visited, but as the quality drastically reduced. Today we had Papdi-Chaat and they put broken stale pani puri (not papdi crisps) that hurt our teeth to chew and tasted old. sometimes it has chana and tomaten, but this time not. a few months ago the chana masala was inedible, the taste was terri... The lassi was warm and oddly flavoured, we then found the mix was made in house (which is great we sent it back and once they added ice it was good but very watery. We had to send back the hot chai tea as well as it came out cold, it took till the end of our starter to get it back. We ordered two Dosa’s, both came in cold (and not spicy even with us asking for extra spice). Overall the waiter was very kind and tried to accommodate us but the food was unfortunately bland and cold. We hope to come back with a better experience.
The BEST meal! We both had the Thali (one meat, one veg) which was (between us) a selection of 6 different curries, all chosen by the kitchen, with a choice of homemade bread..plus rice, pappadum, pickle, yoghurt and dessert. We added a super thick and delicious mango lassi and the other half had a local IPA. If you are in Nelson and want to eat great, authentic and delicious food in a friendly, welcome atmosphere .....just come here....and if not in Nelson...plan a visit ! Definitely worth the trip
Authentic Indian flavours, every flavour is distinct!
Best Indian food in town, by a long shot.An really cozy, beautiful patio in the summer. I always get chappathi and Paneer Butter Masala. SO. GOOD.If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend getting the gulab jamun sundae, or a mango lassi.

Previously, it was my favorite saga masala. no longer know what curries, dosa or chutneys expect, I am sad to leave a bad review, but it is just not a place I would return to after there are too many chances. I am happy that it is more good reviews than bad, but I expect a better meal with more consistency.
