I adore this restaurant! My friend and I always order the vegan ramen and it never disappoints. We have dined in 10 times and even tried replicating the recipe at home. Nothing compares to eating in the restaurant. The staff is lovely and the place is very clean, especially during Covid-19. The takeout service is quick and convenient. They offer vegan appetizers, vegan desserts, and although it is a bit pricey, it is... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ramen Kuro Shiro:
Not worth returning to.Service: Came here with a group of 7, and we requested to break the check at the beginning, which the waiter agreed to. Service was quick but poor. The server messed up the order at first, before begrudgingly fixing the issue. As apparent retaliation for this, the server turned around with another member of the wait staff and refused to split the check saying we took up too much of their time ,... View all feedback.
After the walk around new haven on a cool day, this was the perfect place to stop for delicious ramen. both dishes were very tasteful and so delightful. I will definitely return.
Previously loved kuro shiro, and they were my place for ramen in new haven. the vegan tantanmen are delicious. they make a cashew broth and it is so rich, creamy and nutty (combined with the sesame.) the vegan spicy nebel lacks in taste, it is very easy. I wanted to try the vegan shioyumen sometime, but I won't go back. my friend went with his friends to eat there and brought me the vegan tantanmen to dinner. it was late when he came home, so I saved it for the day after. I immediately saw that my tofu was blue and squirting (and the noodles where the tofu touched.) it was incredibly discouraging and disappointing, as this was freshened the day before. I called her and the guy who was picked up was extremely rude, repulsive and disgusting. I pointed out to offer any compensation and insisted that I had to drive there with a reception and it would not look in the system, would not accept a bank statement of the bill, or even a photo of the acknowledgement. when my friend went with friends, his friend in naugatuck paid the bill and had the physical reception (we are in ansonia.) to get a balance (if this) they told us to drive to naugatuck, to the entrance (20 min), then they drive to new haven (45 min), then they drive to home (30 min.) the type on the phone was always busy talking to me, always told me to talk to me. I've tried to call back, just that he can hang me up without a word. I did not go back and just made a new batch of noodles to house because the broth was separated from the rams and tofu was packed. 2 stars because it is great, they have vegan options.
My husband and I each tried their two vegan ramen dishes and they were delicious. The veggie gyoza was also tasty. We stopped by on our way to New York and this place is conveniently right off of 95. There was a good crowd for early Sunday evening.
I love this place!! I always get the Vegan Ramen with my friend and it NIE FAILS. We have done sitting and taking a total of 10 times and even the recipe at home now. Nothing beats to be in the restaurant. Nice staff. Very clean while Covid-19. Faster and simple takeout. Vegan-Ramen, vegan desserts and all quite expensive!
Both the vegan and non vegans in our family were very happy with our meal. There were vegan options for both appetizers and three vegan ramen bowls. All four in our party were pleased with both quick, courteous service and excellent food. We will be back soon!
