With regards to halal restaurants in Newark, there aren't a lot to choose from. I was in town and needed a bite to eat and Grandma's Kitchen was appealing primarily because it looked clean. I chose a basis beef kebab wrap and was pleasantly surprised by the tender beef, fresh bread and friendly service. To top it off, there was fresh, quality coffee available which was a nice treat. With regards to halal restaurants in Newark, there aren't a lot to choose from. I was in town and needed a bite to eat and Grandma's Kitchen was appealing primarily because it looked clean. I chose a basis beef kebab wrap and was pleasantly surprised by the tender beef, fresh bread and friendly service. To top it off, there was fresh, quality coffee available which was a nice treat. Overall, it was a positive eating experience in a part of town that desperately needs some upgrading. The next step is to open a decent halal market in the neighbourhood. One struggles at the moment to find a piece of fruit, let alone some meat or veg.
