eating and service were very good, but we were not told that the kitchen was going to end when live music began at 10 o'clock. as a result we could not order desserts. we are not big fans of live music, so would not have booked for this night if we knew. read more.

What User doesn't like about The Mount Kennedy Inn:
we had booked a table for 2 after reading the recommendations. we arrived and we were placed directly under the television, playing with the football world cup with the loudness. I asked if we could be moved, but we said that the others were reserved for tables. we had our meal, which was in order. at no time were the other tabs used by other customers. I was really disappointed. I will go back read more.

"Very casual eating, some low tables, some in decent height. a busy place, with families, children, high chairs, hectic and hard. Eating was really excellent. the salmon starter was plentiful, very well presented and very tasty. Veg soup was very good, came with a nice crispy crouton that would have been great with the salmon. chef please note. fish of the day was a touching frit of garnel, with noodles, veg and a soy sauce, very good to woman. my chorizo carbonara was perhaps the best carbonara I ever had. I asked about the recipe, but I'm still waiting. desserts were good even though they had a bit heavily dependent on chocolate. a little more variety would have been better. a good cheeseboard, with many Wicklow cheeses, rounded off a meal that until the standard of the more expensive hugo’s michelin rosette main restaurant. I'll be happy if I get the recipe for this carbonara."

"Very good restaurant wine bar. Comfortably upscale with a decent gluten-free selection. My brother-in-law is celiac and this is his go-to when in the area, so I like it here partly on his seal of approval and also because the service is aware of and attentive to the needs of gluten-sensitive customers. Their website also notes that their sister restaurant in Dublin, Millstone, “offers an extensive gluten free menu”. Haven’t been there myself, just pointing it out."
