"We have been to The Owl Tea Rooms in the past for lunch but today we decided on a late breakfast the English breakfast was very, very good good quality ingredients (sausage, eggs, bacon, etc. plus the best black pudding. Breakfast menu is very comprehensive. Service was attentive and friendly. We highly recommend you try this place."

"Disappointing. Can't really write much of a review as we walked in at 4.22 and were told they were closed. The time of closing is 4.30 and when we argued the point and only wanted a pot of tea and a bun, we were told we wouldn't be able to drink it in time. We even offered to sit outside. We were offered takeaway but we wanted to take the weight off our feet for just a few minutes. Another couple walked in behind us wanting similar so they also walked away. Four customers lost and us for the rest of our stay. Moved up the road to The Gangway Cafe where the attitude was totally different."

"This maybe rated 4.5 on reviews but my experience was less than 1 The website says hours open till 8:00 pm When I arrived at 7:25 pm I was planning to pick up a fish supper. I parked up the road and walked back to the shop, as I walked past the window to the door I could see that all the display cabinets were empty although there were still a couple of guys still in the shop. When I got to the door there was a fish wrapper sign on the door CLOSED 7:30 Fortunately there is a budgens supermarket in Holt that shuts as advertised at 8:00 pm I was able to pick up fresh breaded cod, thai fishcakes and some oven chips. So if you're ever on a few days break near Holt and fancy a fish supper, Budgens is your most reliable and very tasty option."

"We called in after seeing a sign on the road advertising live an hour away) met by a very unfriendly blonde lady who said she could fit us in on her last table as we hadn’t booked then gave another table to another couple who were walk ins) she talked to us like we were stupid as we didn’t know what was going on in nearby Sheringham, how would we? I was just about to walk out when her tone softened slightly. Wish we had left, hubbys pork was fine but my lamb was raw and I do mean raw, when I said it was inedible she said she would get me better slices from the kitchen. They arrived WORSE then the original there was actually blood on the plate! I couldn’t eat the meat and when I asked could the bill be adjusted to this she was more than happy to comply by now there were other diners sitting near us) she knocked off the bill both our alcoholic drinks As we left she said hope you will come again …….NEVER"

"What a place! Friendly and helpful staff. The decor was basic but clean. We didn't use the toilet facilities while we were there. The food was hot, so were the plates (an added bonus). The meat joints looked appetising and tasted delicious. The beef was cooked to perfection. The selection of vegetables were cooked al dente not a colourless mush. Such a shame we live 3 hours away or we'd be frequent visitors! Thank you. Meal type: Dinner"

"Excellent food from a fish focused menu. Not a huge selection but we much prefer a smaller number of dishes done well, which these were, with very well prepared and presented starters, mains and deserts. Friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating of my wife's food allergy. Desserts are excellent! Loses a star just for the two sittings, which means it feels a bit rushed if you are on the early evening sitting. However, I fully understand the financial need to do this as it is a small restaurant with limited covers."
