The staff is attentive, friendly, and provides great service. However, some customers experienced issues with slow service during busy times, a limited menu during events, and noisy evenings when special events were taking place. The desserts were also found to be lacking in variety. Despite these challenges, the food was generally tasty and well-presented. Bramleys remains a recommended choice for those seeking a comfortable dining experience within a lovely setting.
When we were there, they said we didn't book. We ordered a bottle of wine, half an hour later they came back and said they ran out of wine, 10 minutes after the waitress with a bottle of wine back. The ordered appetizers took almost 1 hour to complain to us after 3 times, once arrived they were not hot. The main course lasted almost 2 hours to come back, had to complain several times, fortunately, that was hot, although the tip of my rice was clearly dried out. We were very loud next to teenagers (some kind of summer school) and bearded as teenagers do. Nevertheless, the restaurant should have put them into a functional room and not besides full paying customers, I do not accuse the young people at all. I felt very disappointed as this was the worst culinary experience we had for a very, very long time. The waitress worked extremely hard, I don't feel any of them is their fault. Not what you want after you have celebrated the special day of your child
The main menu was mostly curries, burgers, salads or pizzas and what we had was well cooked and presented and tasted good. The desert menu was very disappointing – a chocolate, ice cream and sorbets or cheese. The cheese plate had not listed everything in the menu. Our waiters we love were very busy and as a result service was slow, but they were happy and efficient.
Food was excellent, but the service is a big let down staff are extremely slow, that is a shame like any dish we had beautiful, although we waited for too long
Unfortunately, our experience in Bramley's Brasserie at Orchard Hotel was not good. Before completing my daughter at the University of Nottingham we had a solemn supper. The service was extremely slow and some of the food was served tepid and sub-standard. We stayed at 7.30 a.m. as booked, but didn't leave the restaurant until 9.45 a.m. The waiting staff was pleasant enough, but seemed badly managed and didn't even know the table plan. The time between the order and the first course and the first and second course was too long. I had to ask where our desserts wait for 30 minutes. Two of the four most important courses we ordered were tepid/cold and all chips were stale. I addressed these problems with the staff, but I did not receive any explanation or compensation. Our solemn meal was pampered by this experience and I could not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
Lovely food, good portion sizes, a nice ambience with friendly service, despite being short staffed. Overall I would recommend.
