"Very delicious tonkatsu. There aren’t many other options for food in this area, compared to larger cities of course. Despite that being the case I also think this tonkatsu would compete amongst the best in larger cities. The building is also very nice. I had the 豆腐かつ煮御膳 (tofu katsu-ni gozen). It is their famous tofu and pork katsu in a boiling broth with egg and onion. Very similar to katsu donburi. It was tasty and the side dishes were nice. I was hoping for a bit more of the main katsu dish in terms of portion size though, maybe same with the rice. If I were to go back I would just get the black pork tonkatsu set meal. The portion was much larger and it was incredibly delicious and thick (I got the try some since other people in my group just went for the tonkatsu set meals)."

"Ordered set and was amazed at the quality of the sashimi. Short wait. Recommended to arrive before the restaurant opens as there was a short queue when we arrived a few minutes before opening. Remember to take a queue number."

"Lovely hostel in Hakone not far from Gora station. We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay here. We used one of the onsen which was really nice after a busy day seeing the sights of Hakone. We also tried their pizza which was pretty good too. We stayed in a traditional tatami mat double room which was a nice experience with very comfortable futons and lovely views. Be warned, the walls are paper thin (literally) so it sounded like we were sharing a room with a very loud snorer! But we were so shattered we soon fell asleep, but bring earplugs if this might bother you. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We would like to come back and stay longer next time as it seemed a very sociable place to relax in the evenings and also to try the other onsen!"

"I am a solo English speaking traveller. So happy I went here. They have some great local beers and delicious food. I had the hakone local beer, the salmon and the 2 sausages. All of which I can recommend. The staff were friendly and helpful and let me charge my phone which was in dire need of juice. Just go."
