What J A doesn't like about Tamura Ginkatsu-tei:
Disappointing place The tofu with minced pork is nothing to rave about and a total ripoff. $25 dollars for some tofu, onions, eggs and tiny bits of minced pork? That is a really high price for some really really cheap ordinary ingredients. And how bad is the food? Tastes like your ordinary oyakodon, but your mom can cook it better. Came on a Monday 5pm when they just open. No need to queue at this timing. Love the tofu katsu with minced pork. Prawn was super good too. Like the craft beer h...

"10 minutes after the opening of the shop. The seat is still gala but it takes more than 10 minutes. The customer gathers around the entrance. I don't know why it is not guided. There is no apology to wait. There is no apology to the staff. Is it good at such a shop?"

"We were staying nearby so we visited around 10 and it was almost full. It's all the grannies working so you can expect it to be good. There's an English menu so it's easy to order. We ordered the oyaku, tori and wild vegetable soba and each one of them was flavourful, umami rich and delicious. Special mention to the wild vegetable soba, there were fiddlehead ferns, mushroom, bamboo shoots and each one of them was naturally sweet. Totally would recommend it if you are in Hakone."
