"One word FABULOUS, celebrated a very special birthday the staff couldn't be more attentive! We had the 10 course tasting menu too, which was amazing very filling, lovely experience! We also had a free upgrade to a suite which was another wow factor on entering the room, unbelievable views few treats which were another lovely touch! Thank you Gidleigh we will be returning"

"You must go. Never been before? There's lots of easy access to beautiful views you don't even have to leave your car before you're greeted by wild ponies. Been a few times but unsure? There's a wide range of walks and activities with forests, rivers, lakes, tors, valleys, pubs, clapper bridges. In the summer you can have a swim in the wild rivers, with the popular spots being close to the car and the less so spots being a short walk. You can scramble and climb on the famous Dartmoor rocks, camp under the stars (make sure to check the laws and areas you can camp on first! , and there's so many free places to park that you only have to walk a bit more from. The beauty alone is worth going. Seriously, you have so many possibilities with such a grand empty space, there's no reason not to."

"EDIT: Was 3 star until we found a hair in one of the dishes. Okay food but nothing special. No parking, cash only and didn't give prawn crackers like most Chinese takeaways do which was disappointing. Overpriced given quality of food. "This is my favorite place to visit when we are on holiday in plymouth, located directly in the middle of the beautiful princetown, we landed twice this time. the cream tees are exceptional and this was also the first time that we tried their warm food and we were not disappointed. the whole day breakfast was top notch and the frying dinner they do every day is gargantuan! proper puddings too. can not wait for my next visit"
